How can we put a little of the holidays into our everyday life at the office? Is there joy after the endless summer, and if so, how do I find it?
You’re back and you’re not in the mood for work. You miss the days being lazy in a swimsuit, with carefree laughs and a sunny mood. How can we continue the holiday mood in our everyday life though?
Start these four good habits that will bring holiday energy into your everyday life:
Gratitude.
At some point during the summer you thought: How lucky am I to live this now? That perfect beach, the waterfall or the festival, the local food, late night laughs in the restaurant and dancing till you drop. You felt gratitude. It’s time to relive it. The great thing about gratitude is that if you start finding things to be grateful for, you feel it more often. And the more often you feel it, the better you feel in your everyday routine. On the other hand, the more you focus on what you don’t have, the less you see what you do have. Learn to tune your brain to discern on what you want, so can choose how you see life.
How to:
A deep dive into problems.
Think about how this summer has changed you. What problems did you have in mind when summer started and how small and silly they may seem now? Were there any issues that were resolved effortlessly and you spent time and energy worrying about them in vain?
Keep in mind that this is the normal nature of problems: at first they seem big and insurmountable, and eventually most do not stand the test of time.
How to:
I did it.
In today’s job market, soft skills are a prerequisite and highly sought after. If you are thinking of making a change in your life and think: But I can’t!, do this exercise and see what skills you acquired this summer:
Guess waht! You already have all these skills and you can use them again in your everyday life, when for example you have a problem at work, when you have to organize a project, etc. So, the next time you think you can’t do it, have a reality check and solve your problems easily, creatively and wonderfully in your own amazing way.
Good habits.
Is there something you accidentally tried on vacation and had a blast with it? Let’s say waking up in the morning, dancing, hiking in nature, playing a musical instrument. Why not have more of that in your every day? The more we add to our daily life habits that we like, the better it becomes!
Remember: how you see things is how you create your reality, so these ideas will help you create a reality the way you want it!
